Waynesboro’s streets are getting a fresh coat of creativity! The 2025 Virginia Street Arts Festival returns to downtown Waynesboro for an unforgettable weekend packed with live mural painting, interactive art, live music, and more.
New Murals, New Energy
This year, three talented artists will transform blank walls into stunning murals, adding to Waynesboro’s growing collection of public art. Watch them bring their visions to life in real time! Read more about the artists and the murals here!

Mobile Museum Exhibits in the Arch Avenue Parking Lot
The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is bringing their art mobile to Waynesboro! Enjoy the museum’s VMFA on the Road: An Artmobile for the 21st Century Saturday, May 17 from 10-6:00 pm and Sunday, May 18 12-4:00 pm.
LVA on the Go, the mobile Library of Virginia, will be set up on Saturday, May 17 from 10-6:00 pm. Their activities vary, but include genealogy help, reference tutorials, library account registration, oral history recordings, and children’s activities.
Cousins Main Lobster Truck will be at the Arch Avenue Parking along with the the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the Virginia Museum of Natural History on Sunday, May 18 from 11-6:00 pm.
DIY Art Projects
Decorate Your Own VASAF t-shirt at the ‘Blossoming Within’ mural location! This pay-what-you-will activity is sponsored by Initial Inspiration and donations will go towards a local non-profit, TBD. We’ll have the t-shirts and all the supplies to do your own ‘Sharpie Tie-Dye’ design!
Fish Community Art Project at ‘The Lure’ mural location! This activity will be hosted by Waynesboro Parks and Rec and we are asking adult community members to decorate a fish to be part of a larger art installation. Don’t worry, we’ll have something for the kiddos to do too!
Art Carnival at the ‘Native Osprey Hunting’ mural location! This interactive art carnival is hosted by Shenandoah Valley Art Center and we’ll have more details coming soon!
Caricature artist and art opportunities with different mediums at the Russell Museum on Saturday from 10-4:00 pm.
Art Explosion 601 at Main Street United Methodist Church! Art Exhibit by Preschool children and adults, Storied in Stained Glass tour, Preschool Program tour, open playground Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest, Make and Take art for all ages, face painting, bubbles, color blast fun, and more! 601 W Main Street.
Art Tours
Take a free guided tour of Waynesboro’s downtown street art and get some Waynesboro swag! The Waynesboro Public Library is hosting a walks on May 17 at 10:00 am and 12:00 pm. Each walk takes about an hour and a half and is about a two-mile walk. You’ll learn about the art and the muralist. Start at the Library and end up downtown where all the action is! Register here.
Take a free guided tour at the historic Bowman House Bed and Breakfast of works by artist Trudee Smith. Guided tours are being offered at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. Sign up for a spot on the tour here.

Fun at the Farmers Market
Hit the Farmers Market Saturday morning, May 17! Along with live music, local produce vendors, crafts and more, the market will be offering a children’s art activity. Bring the kids to get in the art mood by visiting the rock painting station before you hit the festival.

adorn. will be joining the festival while their building is painted! Dana Wheels from Deerhawk Art Studios is doing a special pop-up with her doofy bird artwork on Saturday. Sunday, Molly Schermer of Temper and True will also be hosting a pop-up at adorn. with permanent jewelry!
