The western boundary of Basic Park, which sits on 18-acres, is the South River. Anglers of all ages may test their skill fishing for bass, bluegill, catfish, and trout in the river. In addition to fishing, the the park provides a nice setting for picnics and softball. Basic Park has a newly renovated picnic shelter and also a softball field where adult softball leagues and tournaments can frequently be seen in play.
